My name is Kobusingye Mariam. I grew up facing neglect at home, and there were many days when I didn’t know where my next meal would come from. Life felt heavy, and I often thought I would never have a chance to build a better future for myself.

When I joined the Nature2Income project, I discovered a skill that gave me hope. I learned how to make hair from banana fibres, and slowly, I began creating beautiful, natural hairstyles. With this skill, I am now able to earn my own income and take care of myself.

Nature2Income has given me more than just a skill — it has given me independence and confidence. I now dream of expanding my work and showing other girls in my community that even from a difficult start, you can create a brighter future
